U.S. Needs to Reevaluate Aid to Israel

Washington Post columnist Walter Pincus states the Obvious:  The United States Needs to Reevaluate Its Assistance to Israel

On Oct. 9 the Israeli cabinet approved cutting more than $850 million, or about 5 percent, from its roughly $16 billion defense budget for each of the next two years. Walter Pincus asks the obvious $3 billion question in his “Fine Print” column published today, Oct. 18, 2011, in The Washington Post: “If Israel can reduce its defense spending because of its domestic economic problems, shouldn’t the United States—which must cut military costs because of its major budget deficit—consider reducing its aid to Israel?
