Palestinian Embroidery Mother’s Day Sale

THE PALESTINIAN Embroidery Project held its annual Mother’s Day sale April 25 at Skewers Restaurant in Washington, DC. Gretchen Theobald and Pamela Mertz have selected a large variety of handmade items from Palestinian refugee camps and cooperatives in the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon, Jordan and Syria. The Palestinian Embroidery Project uses the sale of embroidery to provide income to women in refugee camps and to educate Americans about the Palestinian experience and cultural heritage.
