THE TUNISIAN Embassy hosted a well-attended opening reception on July 10 to launch a photography exhibit by Michael Keating, entitled “Tunisia: The Light of Our Sight.” Tunisia’s Ambassador Mohamed Nejib Hachana and Deputy Chief of Mission Mourad Belhassen welcomed diplomats, Tunisian Americans, and friends of Tunisia, including Georgie Anne Geyer, author of Tunisia: The Story of a Country That Works.
Guests enjoyed Tunisian wine and hor d’oeuvres as they examined images that showcased the beauty of this North African country, its stunning ruins, cityscapes and, most of all, its vibrant people. “On my grand list of places to visit, this exhibit just put Tunisia way up at the top,” said Xande Anderer. Many of Keating’s photos would be familiar to regular Washington Report readers, and others may be seen at his Web site: <http://www.mkeating.com/>. His show continued in the embassy’s exhibition hall until the end of July.
